Ceded Reinsurance Analyst & Associate Buyer

• Responsible for supporting Chubb’s external reinsurance placements across multiple product lines (Property, Specialty, Surety, Cyber); this position reports directly to SVP Ceded Reinsurance• Work with Business Unit leaders and Brokers to create, analyze, and develop the reinsurance options and strategy to present to senior management• Involvement in gathering and preparing exposure data from various teams (Actuarial, Finance, Cat Modeling) for assigned client projects• Assessing data quality and assumptions for catastrophe and risk modeling, summarizing key findings, and analyzing changes in exposure and the associated impact of catastrophe model results• Analyzing how the distribution of results and relevant risk measures change due to the application of various proposed reinsurance alternatives• Understanding general catastrophe modeling techniques and peril-specific modeling methodologies including specific inputs, outputs, and processing components for models• Consulting with the business unit leaders to help assess and manage catastrophe risk through the use and interpretation of modeling results• Developing and communicating, internally and externally as necessary, Chubb’s marketing theme, including positions on exposure change, view of model changes, and technical support for our price guidance• Preparing reinsurance presentations for senior management, including clear business strategies, overview of the current reinsurance market, quantitative measures of the reinsurance proposals, and clear execution strategies to ensure treaty purchases are consistent with corporate net retention strategy• Maintaining reinsurance contract files and communicating treaty information back to internal stakeholders• Work closely with Chubb Legal Counsel to ensure completion of reinsurance contracts• Compiling market intel reports from 3 rd party sources used for senior management reports / presentations• Assisting in preparation of reinsurance proposals• Superior analytical, research, problem-solving, and organizational skills• Strong mathematical / financial aptitude• Bachelor’s Degree with preferable emphasis in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or actuarial sciences• 3+ years of comparable experience in the (re)insurance industry• Strong computer application skills, specifically, Excel and PowerPoint• Demonstrated use of Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar data visualization software is a plus• Working knowledge of catastrophe modeling software products and familiarity with the output• Resourceful individual who takes initiative• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to summarize detailed information for executive review• Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations• Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment• Strong oral and written communications skillsChubb is a world leader in insurance.
