Commercial underwriter

JOB DESCRIPTION This position supports the Commercial Insurance Pacific North Region production branch goals related to profit, customer service and producer relationships.The underwriter will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating Technology renewal accounts in accordance with established underwriting guidelines.Lines of business include Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers Compensation, Umbrella, and E&O. The underwriter will manage a book size of approximately 65 accounts.Underwriting responsibilities will include account rounding and cross selling. The underwriter will be responsible for developing strong relationships with independent agents and brokers to successfully manage our business which will require some travel within Bay Area.The candidate must be able to work effectively and collaborate with a team of underwriters and underwriting associates, claims and risk engineering personnel.Competencies / Technical Skills :• 3-10 years underwriting experience• Demonstrate ability to think creatively• Proven time and desk management skills• Strong (verbal and written) communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills• Solid organizational and analytical skills• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software QUALIFICATIONS Education / Experience :• Bachelor's ABOUT US Chubb is a world leader in insurance.
