The New York City Employees’ Retirement System (NYCERS) is seeking to hire a Pension Education Specialist in the Pension Outreach Programs (POP) Unit within the Client Services Division.
The Pension Education Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs for NYC employees who are members and prospective members of NYCERS, as well as other NYCERS partners and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for and experience with training and development best practices.
Key Responsibilities includes:
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and training opportunities.
- Design and develop comprehensive training programs and materials, including manuals, presentations, and e-learning courses.
- Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars to various employee and stakeholder groups, ensuring effective learning experiences.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with of NYCERS division heads to align training initiatives with organizational goals and service delivery plans.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, providing support and sharing best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in training methodologies to continuously improve training offerings.
- Maintain training records and reports, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
ADMINISTRATIVE RETIREMENTS BEN - 8298C
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university including or supplemented by 12 credits in mathematics, statistics, accounting, and/or actuarial science and four years of satisfactory full-time experience implementing the provisions of a retirement plan involving the use of mathematical, statistical, actuarial or accounting computations, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity or supervising professionals implementing the provisions of a retirement plan involving the use of mathematical, statistical, actuarial or accounting computations; or
2. An associate degree or 60 credits from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by 12 credits in mathematics, statistics, accounting and/or actuarial science and six years of satisfactory full-time experience as indicated in “1”; or
3. Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have 60 credits from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by 12 credits in mathematics, statistics, accounting and/or actuarial science and the 18 months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, managerial or executive capacity as described in “1” above.
