Position Summary
The Benefits Administration Department is seeking a detail-oriented member-focused individual to join the Member Status Unit. The ideal candidate will assist with handling cases of varying complexity and support service-related issues. Additionally, the candidate, will assist in identifying and addressing issues with TRS systems and collaborate with team members and external partners to share necessary information and explanations. Reporting to the Member Status Unit Manager, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing and processing member accounts by performing calculations of service credits based on retirement laws and policies to support benefit eligibility determinations, identify
membership deficits and facilitate the purchase of optional services.
- Support the monitoring of associates' work quality, providing assistance in resolving service-related issues.
- Participate in training sessions and provide basic guidance to associates to improve quality and productivity.
- Help identify and resolve issues in TRS systems and assist in testing and implementing system updates in collaboration with developers, QA teams, and project managers.
- Contribute to the development and updating of unit procedures to ensure compliance with service rules and assist in revising correspondence drafts and policy documents as needed.
- Provide periodic updates to management and collaborate with other units, and retirement systems to address member inquiries and data discrepancies.
- Provide support to senior representatives in their absence.

1. An associate degree or completion of 60 credits from an accredited college, including or supplemented by 9 credits in mathematics, statistics, accounting, and/or actuarial science; or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two years of satisfactory full-time experience performing mathematical, statistical, actuarial or accounting computations in one or more of the following: a) a retirement or employee benefits plan; b) customer service in a financial
institution; and/or c) in a position requiring the application of laws, rules and regulations and the use of statistical, actuarial or similar tables; or
3. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to “1" or “2" above. College education may be substituted for experience in “2" above on the basis that 30 semester credits from an accredited college may be substituted for each year of required experience. However, all candidates must posses a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and either 9 semester credits
in mathematics, statistics, accounting and/or actuarial science from an accredited college or one year of experience as described in “2" above.
