DCWP is seeking a Network Engineer to join its IT Services Division to support the agency’s core business applications. The successful candidate will serve as Certified IT Administrator (LAN/WAN) L1 reporting to the IT Operations Team’s Deputy Director. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Establishes and maintains network performance.
- Builds network configurations and connections.
- Troubleshoots network problems and maintain network equipment inventories.
- IP address inventory and auditing.
- Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration and directing system installation.
- Defines, documents, and enforces system standards.
- Maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
- Active Directory administration (user profile setup/modifications, password resets, account lockouts).
- Implement firewall policy and troubleshoot any connectivity issues between networks.
- Work with vendors for troubleshooting and adopting best practice methods.
- Configure router including Voice over IP (static routing, dynamic: eigrp, BGP; etc.)
- Configures network switches (vlan, trunk, pvst, etc.)
- Ability and understanding of Meraki wireless network configuration
- Ability and understanding of Azure load balancer configuration
- Updates data servers and network equipment.
- Collaborates with network architects on network optimization.
- Secures network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned.
CERTIFIED IT ADMINISTRATOR (LA - 13652
Professional/vendor certification(s) in local area network administration that is required for the position to be filled. In addition, all candidates must have the following:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and two years of satisfactory full-time (not classroom based) experience in local area network and/or wide area network planning, design, configuration, installation, implementation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management; or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time (not classroom based) information technology experience of which at least 2 years must have been as described in "1" or
3. A satisfactory equivalent of education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. Education may be substituted for experience on the basis that 30 undergraduate semester credits from an accredited college is equivalent to 6 months of experience. A master’s degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college may be substitute for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have at least one year of satisfactory (not classroom based) full-time information technology experience as described in "1" above.
