The Solid Waste Division provides trash, recycling, and other waste diversion services to more than 400,000 households.The Solid Waste Division is seeking individuals dedicated to customer service and interested in working for a municipal utility to fill two Utilities Service Specialist positions. Utilities Service Specialists assist customers over the telephone with a wide variety of requests and inquiries related to their solid waste service.Responsibilities Include• Weighing vehicles that enter the City's transfer stations and landfill, record commodities.• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.• Assess applicable fees.• Receiving money and recording charges for customers.• Accurately handle cash, charge systems, daily balance reports, and ensuring that the rules and regulations regarding dumping are followed.• Demonstrates superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity.• A high degree of competence for accuracy of cash handling, charge systems, daily balance reports, and for ensuring that the rules and regulations regarding dumping are followed.This position will work under the general supervision of the Solid Waste Foreman.Vacancies exist with Public Works Department at the 27th Avenue Transfer Station and/or the North Gateway Transfer Station.IDEAL CANDIDATE• Proficiency in navigating computer programs and database systems.• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.• Commitment to continuous improvement, collaborative teamwork, and excellent customer service.• Knowledge of Solid Waste customer service or government utility.SALARYPay Range: $20.51 to $30.31 per hour.Hiring Range: $20.51 to $23.74 per hour.Pay Range Explanation• Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.• Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer.
