Global Research Office

We are responsible for designing, building, and managing the sustainability data and research models. We are looking for technically competent, sustainability experts who like to work in a collaborative environment to innovate, advance, and contribute to the development of the company – and have impact on the research and products we create for investors and corporates. You will be part of the 85+ global data, research, and product office, and work on a wide variety of projects with a focus on building out climate and NetZero solutions. You will be involved in the core research and development, and responsible for new climate scoring analytics, visualizations of climate products on platform, and ensuring new climate products and solutions are well-understood by our global clients.

Your Role & Accountabilities


We are looking to hire a Climate & NetZero Research Director to join our team and contribute to global growth. We are seeking applicants with experience in climate science, understand how to the integrate climate data into research, and can speak to a the low carbon transition within products or technology – wither focused on investors or corporates. You will be responsible and accountable for contributing to growing climate and NetZero related data products, research models, and investment solutions. The position is open for application in both our London and Boston offices, please specify your preference in your cover letter.

You Are Expected To:

  • Lead the research and development of climate-related products, particularly in the realm of net zero alignment and climate risk, as part of the growing climate product suite.
  • Be an expert in climate data across carbon, fossil fuels, transition risks, physical risks, green revenues, and/or have an understanding of scenario analysis (e.g. IEA, NGFS).
  • Contribute to applying knowledge and expertise to climate related analytics and industry leading thought leadership.
  • Understand how global markets and investors are integrating climate data.
  • Liaise with Global Head of Sustainable Investing & ESG Research on data, research, product, and platform.
  • Liaise with our product office on client feedback, market demand, and product support.
  • Contribute to marketing material to share insights and build product demand.
  • Engage with existing clients to test ideas and new products.
  • Participate in industry conferences and act as an Arabesque ambassador.

Requirements

We Are Keen To Hire Professionals Who:


  • Have worked within climate research or product development at data/analytics specialist firms or financial institutions.
  • Have a a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience with expertise in climate, climate data, climate model, or climate related products.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of transition risk and physical risk drivers, and could guide on how these could be modelled for companies and portfolios.
  • Have programming experience (preferably Python and PostgreSQL).
  • Have experience working with large datasets.
  • Understand the reasoning behind integrating sustainability information in the capital allocation process for climate solutions and care about making our solutions solve real problems.
  • Possess an excellent command of the English language—speaking and writing—and have a desire to share knowledge and expertise through white papers and articles.
  • Have a PhD/Masters' degree in climate-related science (not required but a plus).
