Your Opportunity

As a Medical Writer you will be responsible for supporting the Section Editor(s) and Clinical Editor(s) in applying the principles of evidence-based practice and developing high-quality content within specific content domain(s). You must have the ability to analyze and critically appraise medical, nursing and allied health research and literature, and write and update evidence-based topics as indicated by the clinical editorial team.


You will also have a demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practice, research analysis, and writing experience in a healthcare-related field are required.


What You’ll Do (Primary Responsibilities)

  • Write and update medical-related content topics in several formats for point-of-care and education products.
  • Perform structured medical/nursing literature searches and research analysis to ensure inclusion of most recent evidence and guidelines in topics.
  • Adhere to style guides (EBSCO and AMA), templates and content structures.
  • Maintain quality and currency of content and participate in quality initiatives, such as ensuring consistency across content.
  • Participate in editorial improvement projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, healthcare, or health information-related field (Advanced degree preferred such as MSN, MSW, MPH)
  • 2 years writing experience related to medical or scientific content and experience with MS Office Suite, including Word (with use of track changes) and Excel
  • Demonstrated understanding of principles of evidence-based practice and use of health information technology to support clinical decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to extract relevant clinical information from research and write clinical content concisely, exercising judgment to produce content with minimal errors
  • Ability to analyze and critically appraise medical, nursing and allied health research and literature
  • Willingness to learn content management systems and project tracking programs
  • Motivated self-learner and ability to self-manage multiple priorities with focus on team success
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills such that feedback is effectively and constructively given and received


What sets you apart

  • Advanced degree in a science or healthcare-related field
  • Critical appraisal and statistical skills sufficient to analyze clinical relevance of all study types
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, such as initiative and a strong work ethic
  • Experience with content management systems and project tracking programs (i.e., SDL, Rally, Distiller)
  • Proficiency with specific Dynamic Health processes may serve in lieu of minimum required qualifications

Target Annual Salary Range: $65,250 - $93,215. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
