Senior QA & Automation Engineer

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer at Codurance, you will be working closely with the client and our craftspeople, making sure our products and procedures meet safety and quality standards. To be successful in this role, you should be familiar with various inspection techniques and be able to act as an auditor for all of our systems identifying issues and recommending solutions. Ultimately, you’ll help us build products that address customers’ needs.

You will participate in developing and executing all kinds of tests and automated these to ensure software quality. QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts, DORA, etc) as well as liaise with various stakeholders (technical and business) from Codurance and our clients’ teams.

• Promote Quality knowledge within Codurance and our clients
• “Auditing” client processes and environment during discovery weeks
• Collaborate with the client QA team (if they have one)
• Help developers understand more in-depth: testing and test implementation, use of QA tools, and automation

Responsibilities

• Determine, implement, and monitor quality metrics
• Develop and spread the knowledge around Quality with all relevant stakeholders
• Support developers to understand testing, implement tests, use tools, and automate
• Collaborate with potential client QA teams if they exist
• “Auditing” client processes and environment during discovery weeks / assessments
• Identify risks or bottlenecks which could affect the quality and delivery, participate to creating reports to propose improvements
• Automation (design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools)
• Review current standards and policies
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools, test strategies, and advancements in the market

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• 6y+ of experience, preferably within consulting
• Excellent communication skills, both in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
• In-depth knowledge of QA strategy (holistic testing, Agile Testing Manifesto, Agile testing...)
• Wide knowledge of quality tools (Cucumber, Playwright, Appium, sonarQube, Jenkins, POstman, Pact, mutation testing)
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes including monitoring tools
• Good teaching skills and capacity to facilitate workshops
• Open mind around what quality is (adapt to the client)
• Continuous learning mindset
• BDD knowledge
• In-depth understanding of technical documentation and statistical analysis
  

It would be a bonus if you also have:

• Knowledge in process improvement, development
• Familiarity with at least one programming language
• TDD Knowledge
• ISTQB certificate

Interview Process:

1. Initial Call (30 mins): Connect with someone from our People Ops team.
2. Take-home exercise: Develop a test strategy and a set of automated tests.
3. Discussion (1 hour 30 mins): Discuss your approach and solution with our tech team.
4. Final Interview (1 hour): Further explore tech and soft skills with the Managing Director.
