Position Overview: 

Reporting to the Vice President of Construction and Property Services, this leadership role is accountable for developing and leading the vision, innovation, design and development of career lifecycle education products for the construction and division II tradesman markets.  The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of success that would point to one’s ability to drive advancements in product innovation, delivering course and content roadmaps, securing and evolving our market position as the market leader and education provider of choice for construction industry professionals. A remarkable, relevant, and memorable customer experience is our commitment to clients and our head of product and innovation will play a starring role in our delivery of an exceptional experience.

Prior education or publishing industry experience is required as is demonstrated strength of character, leadership acumen, and a track record of delivering product- and content-led revenue growth. The ideal candidate will be located in St. Louis Missouri, Siesta Key Florida, or remotely from Florida with expected travel.  


What You'll Do
  • Based on robust voice of customer research and conviction, lead the prioritization of product features and designs standards, along with the product roadmap, with an eye towards innovation and next generation product and customer experiences.   
  • Drive content and curriculum design standards that focus on micro-learning, assessment variety and engaging learning experiences via video, audio and interactive platforms that lead to improved learner outcomes.  
  • Partner with the business and instructional leads to standardize learning pedagogy and instructional design and delivery.  
  • Manage product development lifecycle and execute with Colibri’s engineering team, ensuring consistent standards and drive continuous process improvement to focus on the highest value opportunities and product effectiveness. 
  • Build and lead a professional product and content organization working across a spectrum of brands and professions. 
  • Lead and manage a team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment while providing clear direction and set measurable goals and KPI’s for team members. 
  • Create and evolve a digital first experience for customers with a focus on personalization through utilization of tools and apps where applicable. 
  • Partner with the marketing team to create a product growth strategy and product centric value propositions that are clearly differentiated and strengthen Colibri’s market position and market share.  
  • Design an analytic and metric strategy aligned to measuring the product and associated features in a test-prove-scale model.  
  • Facilitate communication between product, platform, engineering, marketing, UX and customer facing teams to prevent organizational silos.  
  • Strategize with platform and engineering to align product strategy with platform migration and enhancement initiatives.  
  • Create a scalable, best-in-class product solution for Colibri customers with an eye toward bolstering student success and creating lifelong customers and raving fans.  
  • Ensure fresh products and content are continuously generated to foster organic growth for the ecosystem.  
  • Manage and own product budget to support and drive business growth goals while improving business product margin. 


What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelors degree from accredited University in business, social sciences, product management, ed-tech or marketing is required.  
  • MBA or Master’s Degree desirable.  
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with product management, content development and leading functional teams aligned to product-led growth.   
  • Relevant industry training preferred but not required.  
  • Experience in professional education preferred; higher education experience and K-12 experience considered. 
  • eCommerce-channel experience preferred. 
  • Experience with LMSs, project management software, ERP, PBI or other data visualization tools is required.  
  • Comfortable leading and setting structure, pace and priorities; the ability to cut through ambiguity and hold team accountable. 
  • A passion for delivering a remarkable customer experience and living the organizations values.  
  • Must have a commitment to education and be upbeat, high integrity with a natural customer focused orientation.  
  • Happy, humble with horsepower, hungry and passionate about the business and product innovation.   
  • Data-driven, respectful and collaborative as a team member and a leader.
