Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is looking for an entry level Engineer to support the Supplier Request for Information (SRI) process under the Power and Controls organization. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

This position will sit at our Santa Isabel, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with other Engineering disciplines (Systems, Software, Mechanical, and Electrical), Programs, Production, Quality and Supply Chain to develop an integrated execution plan to address supplier request.
  • Support weekly Supplier Request for Information (SRI) meetings
  • Monitor queue of SRI’s assigned to P&C Engineering to ensure work is performed in a timely manner and by priority.
  • Analyze requests, drive actions, and monitor outstanding engineering work items.
  • Conduct burndown session to reduce backlog of work
  • Familiar with operating budgets, and financial terms. Review budget status and prepares reports.
  • Support internal/ external meetings to share status, metrics, technical information, etc.
  • Identifies, defines, monitor and assess internal issues and work resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer- satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Navigate competing priorities, delivering the highest level of engagement, and delivering successful outcomes in critical situations.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing)
  • Aerospace industry experience and producibility knowledge is a plus
  • Proficient print reading and working knowledge of industry standards including ASME/ANSY 14
  • Proficient with Microsoft office Excel application.
  • General knowledge of Project Management
  • General understanding of Engineering/Manufacturing Process and Practices
  • Experience working with projects and teams within a highly matrixed organization
  • Experience in the following tools:
    • SAP
    • TEAMCENTER
    • Configuration Management / Data Management
    • SharePoint
    • Tableau
    • Kobai
    • Qlik
