The Propeller Systems Engineering group is seeking a highly focused and dedicated Product Designer/Analyst (Drafting) ready to tackle challenging tasks related to complex new and legacy propeller component designs. The role defined here combines two key areas of expertise, Product Design and Product Design Analysis, and the successful applicant will have the skills and flexibility to support both... roles. As a Product Designer, you will work directly with engineering staff to produce 3-D models and 2-D layout drawings of the product to meet both engineering and customer requirements. As a Product Design Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing tolerance studies to support the Form, Fit & Function of the designs and to ensuring the model and drawings are accurately defined. Responsibilities:
Create detail components & assemblies in NX Manage the Bill of Materials within NX/Teamcenter. Create drawings for high complexity piece parts. Create Layouts to support new designs. Work with engineering for initial 3D concepts of new products. Perform tolerance studies analysis for Form, Fit & Function Check drawings for accuracy, correct GD&T, and compliance to company / industry standards Execute Collins Standard Work using Design Standard Features and Design Guidebook as appropriate to complete the task. Investigate and improve, with engineering, current product design issues. Support and participate in engineering design reviews Lead detailing drafters in the completion of component drawings for a design project. Experience with industry specifications Participate in qualification activities for the development of new materials to support new Aircraft Programs and value engineering projects Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required Must be a U.S. Citizen Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter Experience with CATIA V5 15 years of demonstrated application of GD&T dimensioning practices, compliant to ANSI Y14.5M, as well as the ability to create a tolerance analysis for complex assemblies and piece parts. Knowledge of industry standards and a good understanding of drafting principles such as GD&T are a plus for the candidate in this role. Experience with the Siemens NX and Teamcenter suite of tools, CATIA V4 and Microsoft Office for daily operations.
