Job Summary and Qualifications

The Commitment Analyst is responsible for managing the complex process of tier assignments on all Physician Preference and tiered agreements for all HealthTrust members. The Commitment Analyst is responsible for training and directing both the Contract Managers/Directors and the supplier representatives on appropriate contract structure and system requirements. This process is often controversial and requires excellent negotiation and communication skills. The Commitment Analyst interfaces regularly with customers and suppliers and is required to direct and expedite critical problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities–

Duties (included but not limited to):

  • Interpret contract terms and intentions and translate into operational elements that members can implement. Often this requires complex negotiation with the supplier and contract managers/directors.
  • Train all users for the various roles they perform in the electronic letter of commitment systems. This includes members, suppliers and internal users.
  • Evaluate system and pricing issues and expedite problem resolution. This often requires creative solutions due to system limitations and inadequacies.
  • Responsible for performing analysis related to member group or company reorganizations and identifying required actions to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Create, maintain and revise legal templates for Letter of Commitments.
  • Create, revise and maintain all negotiated LOCs for all Med/Surg, Custom and Pharmacy tiered contracts
  • Represent approximately 6000 HealthTrust Members in handling complaints and disputes in resolving LOC/pricing issues.
  • Works closely with the communications team to coordinate final details for the LOCs before publishing.
  • Involved in long term system planning and requirements for new systems implementations
  • Continually formulate and revise all operating procedures in the Commitment Analyst department.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Requires extensive knowledge and understanding of various system dependencies and interactions in order to ensure all downstream systems are synced and appropriate.
  • This individual must possess the business savvy to understand that many of the pricing issues have a financial and administrative impact on HealthTrust Members, and must be able to resolve pricing issues in an expedient and favorable manner.
  • Required to manage multiple projects and details at the same time. Should have above average ability to manage details and deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately in meetings with suppliers, AVPs, Contract Managers, Account Managers, and Members
  • Must have above average aptitude for learning and understanding complex proprietary computer systems.
  • Must have an excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience may substitute

EXPERIENCE

3-5 years’ experience in a position that is customer focused and allows analytical skills to be utilized. Healthcare industry knowledge is a plus.
