We are looking for a motivated Engineer to join our talented technology team working closely with our commodities trading desks, providing solutions that make a tangible and critical difference to how we do business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identifying opportunities to enhance our Front Office risk management offering, taking ownership from inception to delivery.
  • Building well-engineered, reusable, and scalable platforms that underpin the growth and agility of the business.
  • Supporting a fast-paced trading environment, working directly with senior technology and finance professionals across our global business.
  • Gaining financial markets expertise, focusing on the agriculture business with close links to the energy and metals sectors.

Technologies you will work with:

  • Python, C++
  • SQL/NoSQL databases
  • AWS

To excel in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A passion for technology and engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and common design patterns.
  • Hands-on experience of standard software development tools (source control, CI/CD, testing practices).
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong communication skills.
  • A commercial and client-focused mindset with the ability to manage stakeholders and delivery.
  • An ability to work as part of a diverse and collaborative team.

It would be a bonus if you’re familiar with:

  • Experience of the full project lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, version control).

In this role you will see first-hand the positive impact your work has and how it supports revenue growth and operational efficiencies.

We operate in a flat structure. The members of the team are encouraged to take ownership and accountability for their work, collaborating with senior members of the business to identify new opportunities.

We encourage our team members to play multiple roles; from business analysis and requirements gathering to delivery and risk management. Through this process our team gains a better understanding of the process of product delivery and has an opportunity to develop different skills and explore different career paths.

The team operates a hybrid working approach, making the most of the benefits of both office-based collaboration and remote working.

Having a Learning Mindset is a key value of our group, and we support our staff by giving them access to a variety of learning resources and accreditation.
