We are looking for a Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join our global product marketing team as the database market remains exciting, dynamic, and as competitive as ever. Our business is looking for strong support in providing competitive intelligence and analysis on our competitive landscape, overall market trends, and how we continue to position YugabyteDB’s unique architectural advantages. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build the company’s Competitive Intelligence approach from the ground up and directly influence Yugabyte’s strategic decision-making. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the transactional database market and the ability to get hands-on with products.

The responsibilities of this role include conducting in-depth research on competitors’ products and GTM strategy, crafting crisp and compelling positioning and messaging, providing regular company-wide briefings and updates, and supporting field teams (sales, presales, services) with global training. As a successful candidate for this role, you have a proven track record of understanding technical products, producing powerful content, and educating cross-functional teams on your research and analysis, ideally for high-tech companies with subscription and/or SaaS/cloud business models. You also have a strong ability to think strategically, communicate clearly in both verbal and written form, and are an eager self-starter who is comfortable working in a rapidly growing company with a fast-paced working environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of YugabyteDB’s competitive landscape from publicly available sources
• Create compelling, crisp, and creative technical deliverables geared towards a range of audiences and forums
• Draw insights from in-depth technical evaluation of competitor products to influence product and marketing decisions and identify strategic opportunities
• Create a framework to assess the competition and communicate finds to cross-functional stakeholders
• Provide regular company-wide briefings and updates on key industry and competitor trends to enable and educate sales teams
• Identify any product opportunities or gaps inhibiting GTM success for YugabyteDB and work with PM to prioritize customer needs into the roadmap
• Partner with stakeholders across product, marketing, and sales to understand and advise on our competitive strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
• Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience with transactional databases at a B2B technology company
• Strong technical foundation with SQL and databases with the ability to get hands-on with YugabyteDB and competitive products
• Experience in SaaS and cloud computing with a strong understanding of enterprise IT environments
• Strong research, analytical, and communication skills required
• Ability to navigate and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic, hyper-growth business environment with a track record of building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
• Technical undergrad degree (e.g., computer science, engineering, applied mathematics) preferred
