Responsibilities:
The Complaint Resolution Coordinator (CRC) will assist in supporting and maintaining university case management compliance. Specifically, cases involving: Title IX, Power-Based Violence, the Violence Against Women Act ("VAWA'), Title VI, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII)., The Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"), The Rehabilitation Act of 1973, The Age Discrimination in Employment Act ("ADEA'), and Equal Employment Opportunity laws, including Executive Order 11246, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA)and state and local laws.
Description:
The Complaint Resolution Coordinator (CRC) reports to the Title IX Coordinator and is responsible for the assessment and intake of incoming discrimination and harassment complaints. The CRC will manage the complaint intake function by conducting intake and assessment into a wide range of incoming discrimination, harassment, and Title IX complaints submitted by University students, employees, and visitors. The primary responsibility for this position is to triage reports of alleged sexual misconduct and discrimination under Title IX and other non-discrimination laws, as defined by federal regulation and university policies. The CRC will acknowledge complaints and provide the initial response to complainants; conduct other preliminary fact-finding as required to assess and provide an initial response to the allegations, received under applicable federal regulations, and university policy and procedures; schedule and perform intake interviews; interpret and/or advise complainants under university policy; provide referrals and resources to individuals affected by sexual misconduct and other forms of discrimination. Under the direction of the Title IX Coordinator and according to University policy this position will assist in the disposition and transfer of cases to investigators and propose interim safety and welfare measures as needed for sexual violence and harassment complaints.
The CRC will partner with campus offices, including University Police, Student Rights and Responsibilities, and the Student Counseling and Testing Center.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide comprehensive, timely, trauma-informed response and support services to faculty, staff, and students reporting sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment.
-Conduct intake meetings with students, faculty, and staff reporting violations of the University’s Policies on Sexual -Harassment and other Prohibited Sexual Conduct, Power-Based Violence Policy, Non-Discrimination Policy; communicate information about reporting options and the University’s investigation and resolution process.
- Engage in regular communication with parties involved processes; conduct check-in meetings with parties throughout open processes; address/triage any needs articulated by the parties.
- Ensure a well-documented process. Maintain accurate and thorough records and notes of all interactions, including keeping updated case records in case management system.
- Manage the closure of individual case files, ensuring compliance within the case management system is complete prior to closure.
- Assist with fulfilling bi-annual reporting requirements in accordance with ACT 472.
