Computer Programming Teacher - Fusion Academy Cupertino

Pay rate: $28.50/hour
Part-time (15-20 hours/week) but with the potential to go full time depending on enrollment and teacher versatility to teach a variety of coding languages, game design, and other academic subjects.
Position Summary:
Our campus has an opening for a Computer Programming Teacher for the 2023-24 school year. This position provides a student centered, supportive classroom that promotes our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes of resourcefulness, critical thinking, self -awareness, and inclusion while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student through Fusion’s differentiated approach.
The Cupertino campus is looking for a Coder Extraordinnaire who would be able to teach a number of basic coding languages (more below). Our team needs a teacher familiar with Web Development, Game Design, and general Computer Science. More teaching hours may be available to teachers who can also teach English literature/composition, Music theory, Japanese, and/or ASL.
There is also a possibility of a Programming teacher splitting time between the Cupertino and Palo Alto campuses in order to serve as many students as possible and attain full-time status (30+ hours/week).
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide a one-to-one teaching experience in the areas of C++ programming, Java, Python, and HTML at grade levels 6-12.
Show evidence of adapting and differentiated instruction for all students and a classroom forum for holistic growth.
Maintain complete and accurate records.
Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent communication with parents.
Contribute to and benefit from the campus community.
Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement.
In addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching, this position includes significant student mentoring.
Other duties as assigned.
