Occupational Therapist II - Acute Care

Overview:New graduates will be considered.The Occupational Therapist II assesses patient's conditions, devises and coordinates rehabilitative programs aimed at aiding a return to optimal functional abilities, enhancing mobility, alleviating discomfort, boosting muscle strength, and lessening or preventing deformities resulting from illnesses or injuries. Additionally, they provide education for patients and their families as part of the therapeutic process. In their role, they possess the ability to effectively and independently care for all patients within their clinical environment and fulfill occupational therapy responsibilities with minimal supervision. This professional fosters communication within the interdisciplinary team, treats familiar patients with assurance, and stands up for the well-being of both patients and colleagues. While adept in their practice, this therapist may seek guidance in intricate scenarios and face challenges when transitioning to different care settings.Responsibilities:Assesses and provides care for a range of diagnoses and intricate cases.Carries out comprehensive assessments on patient's physical capabilities, health records, and limitations to create personalized therapy strategies.Delivers therapeutic activities and various interventions in occupational therapy aimed at enhancing patients' strength, flexibility, and mobility.Provides information to patients and their families regarding treatment strategies, at-home workouts, and self-care methods for enhancing rehabilitation results.Collaborates with peers to create and execute discharge plans and suggestions for ongoing treatment, potentially seeking assistance from colleagues.Observes and records the advancement of patients, the results of treatments, and reactions to actions to allow for modifications in treatment strategies when necessary.Works together with cross-functional teams from various departments to guarantee cohesive patient care and comprehensive treatment results.Carries out additional tasks as required.Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required:• Bachelor's degree in Occupational TherapyEXPERIENCE:Required: 3 yearsLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDRequired:Licensed by the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Board; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
