Overview:The Patient Access Advocate II plays a crucial function in our front office procedures. It provides an opportunity to enhance your established customer service and medical technology abilities, positioning you as the specialist intermediary for patient and clinic interactions. Main responsibilities include delivering exceptional customer service, conducting insurance verifications, managing referrals, and potentially assisting in training new Patient Access Advocate I employees for success in certain clinics.Responsibilities:Supports individuals by aiding them in the registration procedure, confirming patient details and insurance information for precise payment handling and insurance invoicing.Provides guidance to new staff members regarding registration procedures. Adheres to standard practices for gathering and recording co-payments, processing payments, and conducting reviews of accounts for outstanding debts. Complies with the regulations outlined in the No Surprise Act.In charge of balancing the cash register and completing daily bank deposits while adhering to end-of-day procedures.Adheres to recommended scheduling protocols for a single or various clinics and manages the booking of follow-up, referral, and testing sessions. Aids new staff members in coordinating appointment arrangements.Adheres to office protocols for handling inbound calls, messages, voicemail, and email, and organizes any necessary follow-up actions.Coordinates referrals and secures pre-certifications when necessary, then alerts the pre-certification coordinator for further action.Enhances guest satisfaction by following Steps of Service guidelines and ensuring a pleasant experience for visitors.Educates newly hired staff in basic clerical assistance including handling paperwork, medical documents, faxing, scanning, organizing files, and typing tasks.Ensures that new patient data is transmitted promptly. Sends out information packs to new patients and reaches out to them a day prior to their scheduled meeting. Adheres to the policy regarding missed appointments, sending out correspondence and recording instances of no-shows promptly.Carries out additional tasks as requiredQualifications:EDUCATION:Required:• High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred:• Graduate of a certified medical office training courseEXPERIENCE:Required:• 1 Year clerical experience in medical setting. Proficient in EPIC Cadence/Prelude.• Customer Service experience in healthcare setting.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
