JOB SUMMARY:

The role of the Contracts Specialist will be to review all purchase contracts and assist with trade. Contract administration responsibilities include representing the company in the negotiation and administration of contracts. Responsible for the review of new contracts, existing contracts, and providing support to the organization. Assists the Contracts & Trade Compliance Manager with export compliance with U.S. and Non-U.S. laws and regulations dealing with export, customs, and sanctions.


JOB DUTIES:

Contracts:

Reviews all customer and supplier contracts for discrepancies with quality and contractual provisions.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of procedures and policies for contract management and administration in compliance with approved corporate policy
  • Examines all documents related to each order for conformance with quality codes
  • Maintain contractual records and documentation and control all contract correspondence
  • Provide redlined recommendations and directly negotiate standard and nonstandard contracts within approved policy
  • Work with Engineering, Finance, and Operations to mitigate risk as part of the evaluation of contract terms
  • Interfaces directly with customers as needed to resolve contractual discrepancies
  • Ensure that all final contracts are communicated to relevant parties to provide contract visibility, awareness, and appropriate interpretation to support implementation.
  • Attend continuing education to stay current on contractual related laws and regulations

Trade Compliance:

Assists with oversight of the AbelConn Export Compliance Program.

  • Implements procedures and policies for corporate trade compliance in accordance with approved corporate policy and applicable laws and regulations
  • Assists with investigating non-compliance and collaborates with Site management to prepare voluntary self-disclosures and implement corrective action.
  • May review outbound shipments for conformance with published guidance from the Contracts & Trade Compliance Manager in their absence
  • Participate in compliance audits and/or investigations of export and import activities.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in business and/or legal/paralegal
  • 1-3 years contract management experience
  • Knowledge or experience with electronics
  • Some experience in US Government contracting
  • Experience in export control preferred
  • May require occasional travel
