Summary of Key Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting managers and colleagues with HR related questions, new hire orientation, maintaining colleague files and ensuring compliance with policies and state and federal laws.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Accurately processes payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, transfers, merit increases and status changes in accordance with established policy and procedure
  • Effectively assists colleagues with benefit questions and issues; interfaces with BConnected or HCA Time Away From Work
  • Provides assistance/explanation to colleagues as needed and assists in solving problems
  • Accurately interprets and educates managers/colleagues regarding policy/procedure interpretation
  • Provides requested reports such as cost turnover, completed evaluations, department lists, etc. in an accurate and timely manner
  • Plans, organizes and coordinates colleague relations events as appropriate
  • Ensures compliance with all HR standards and remains current on updates and revisions
  • Assists with annual projects such as benefits open enrollment, colleague recognition awards, etc.
  • Maintains and revises, as needed, a current job description for all positions
  • Coordinates the use of contractors
  • Effectively communicates appropriate HR issues to all colleagues via email, brochures, flyers, bulletin boards, etc.
  • Completes special projects as assigned
  • Interfaces with the legal department and contract agencies as appropriate in a professional manner
  • Researches, develops and assists in planning of training programs for managers regarding HR related issues, i.e. performance evaluations, documentation, progressive discipline, hiring practices, etc.
  • Actively participates in the orientation of new colleagues
  • Provides assistance and support as needed
  • Maintains adequate files, records, documentation regarding various HR issues and colleague related concerns/functions for future reference
  • Conducts exit interviews as needed and requested for assigned departments; informs HR Director of identified trends or areas of concern
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality
  • Assists other staff as requested and performs other related work as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resources
  • HRIS or WorkDay experience highly preferred
  • HR knowledge base
  • Microsoft Office skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written)
  • Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with colleagues, managers and administrators

*This role will be onsite in downtown Nashville, TN with potential for a hybrid schedule after the training period is complete.*
