Coordinator of Arts Admissions and Promotions

Summary

The Coordinator of Arts Admissions and Promotion will work closely with the academic leadership of the School of Art, the Department of Theatre/Film, and the Department of English’s Creative Writing Program on student recruitment, enrollment, and promotion/marketing related activities. The Admissions Coordinator will also oversee the School of Art’s BFA portfolio review process, including pre and post-review advising. In addition, the Coordinator will work closely with the unit heads from Art, Theatre/Film and Creative Writing to award scholarships and grant-in-aid opportunities to incoming students.

Essential Functions

  • Works with Office of Admissions to schedule campus visits for prospective students. Communicates with prospective students. Connects prospective students with Arts faculty. Leads tours of facilities.
  • Organizes the School of Art’s BFA portfolio review process, including pre- and post-review student advising.
  • Works with Office of Admissions to coordinate arts related recruitment as well as arts program involvement in University recruitment events – Preview Days, Presidents Day, etc.
  • Works with Office of Admissions and the Office of Marketing/Brand Strategy to create and oversee production of arts specific recruitment materials – including brochures, posters, videos.
  • Updates websites and materials related to arts program recruitment and promotion. In conjunction with arts program leadership and faculty, coordinates social media activity.
  • Hires, trains, supervises student workers, interns and graduate assistants for arts recruitment and promotion activities. Trains students to lead tours, create promotional materials, and contribute to social media activity.
  • Collects, analyzes and shares arts admissions data and related statistics.
  • Researches, recommends, and implements best practices in arts recruitment.
  • Oversees arts program scholarship and grant-in-aid opportunities for incoming students.
  • Manages arts program recruitment budget/s.
  • Represents arts programs at national portfolio reviews and similar types of Arts recruitment events (travel required). Coordinates faculty participation.

Minimum Qualifications

The following Degree is required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.
    • Bachelor’s degree in arts or related areas including arts administration, student personnel, marketing or communications preferred.
The following Experience is required:
  • 1 year experience working in arts administration, student personnel, marketing, or communications.

  • Proficient in use of software such as Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, Access and PowerPoint
