Copywriter, Communications & Content Writer

Job Description


Position Goal: Create and deliver differentiated, engaging, and strategic content that supports the visibility and growth of Merkle’s brand.


How You Do It: In a global agency of Merkle’s size, there are no shortage of stories to tell or opportunities in which to tell them. This role is perfect for a versatile copywriter to work across Merkle’s Marketing team to support the creation of content and communications in all channels. This includes emails, ads, video, eBooks, website content, and sales assets that enable our teams to engage with clients and prospects.


With the volume and breadth of Merkle’s output, rarely will each day look the same. This position allows you to gain experience and to shape the Merkle brand voice and tone, while leaning into key marketing initiatives for virtual and live events, audience-centered campaigns, and internal culture programs.


Qualifications


  • Strong writing and editing skills with experience and knowledge across both short-form and long-form formats for digital channels.
  • A solid portfolio of writing samples across formats such as email, advertising, video, eBooks, and website.
  • An ability to articulate complex, technical, or niche ideas into simple and engaging language that most people can understand.
  • A positive, critical-thinker with an audience-centered mindset who can determine key themes and convey them in a clear and organized manner.
  • An aptitude for variety and an enterprising spirit that has you bringing ideas to the table, building on the team’s ideas, and growing and shaping the role as you go.
  • A collaborative personality that works well in a team environment and responds positively to editorial feedback. Fostering relationships with teams across the agency is also key.
  • 5+ years of copywriting in-house or in an agency role
  • Familiarity with content management systems and content platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in creative writing, communications, or journalism. 


Additional Information


The anticipated salary range for this position is ($68,000- $110,400). Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
