Corporate Development Analyst

PMG is a digital company that helps marketers connect people with their brand. Focused on people and grounded in data, our award-winning culture fosters meaningful careers. Partnering with the most iconic brands in the world, we put people at the center of everything we do to deliver value, innovation, and business transformation.

The Corporate Development Analyst will support a global finance function which is integrated across the Momentum organization through shared systems, processes, and best practices. The Corporate Development Analyst will assist in driving the inorganic growth strategy of Momentum and its portfolio companies as the group continues to grow and evolve. This critical role will contribute to the execution of various aspects of the M&A process. The successful candidate will work collaboratively both with the corporate development team and across departments to assist in pipeline management, financial analysis, modeling, due diligence, reporting, and integration efforts.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of accounting and finance concepts, strong analytical & communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a desire to take ownership of deliverables, at times working autonomously. Momentum offers a fast-paced, challenging, fun, and rewarding environment in which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and grow in multiple disciplines across corporate development, finance, and the broader shared services organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential acquisition targets, conduct preliminary research, assess strategic fit, complete proactive outreach, hold initial conversations, and recommend investments for approval and endorsement by leaders at Momentum and its affiliate companies
  • Maintain a database of pipeline opportunities
  • Build financial models, including discounted cash flow models and buy vs. build analyses, to assess the value of potential acquisition targets
  • Liaise with investment bankers and company executives to manage the deal process
  • Manage due diligence alongside others on the Corporate Development team
  • Collaborate with the broader Momentum organization to draft, manage, and oversee the merger integration plan and process
  • Monitor post-acquisition financial and operational performance
  • Establish and continually refine best practices for all aspects of the M&A process
  • Contribute to FP&A efforts (e.g., revenue forecasting for one of the Momentum companies, development of new internal analyses, etc.) to be communicated during the interview process
  • Support incremental ad hoc projects, such as market research and thought leadership

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree is required; a concentration in accounting or finance is a plus
  • 1+ years of corporate development, transaction advisory, private equity, or investment banking experience is required
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable strategy
  • Technical understanding of accounting, finance, deal processes, and data analysis
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced and deadline-driven work environment
  • Demonstrated project-management, organization, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple complex and competing priorities within both Corporate Development and FP&A
  • Personal drive to learn the business and the industry in which it operates
  • Genuine interest in digital marketing and associated technology platforms (prior experience not required)
