As the Lead Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our developer portal. You will work closely with the product and support engineering teams to build a scalable and reliable platform that helps developers build continuously reliable software. You will be solving deeply technical problems and diving into scalability issues as we onboard more enterprises onto the platform.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain the backend infrastructure that powers our developer portalDesign and build new features and enhance existing onesBuild high-performing, reliable and scalable systemsHire, mentor and coach junior engineers to help them grow and develop their skillsWrite clean, maintainable, and testable code that adheres to best practicesPartner with engineering, product, leadership, sales, and our customers to ensure our designs are technically feasible and create great user experiences.Continually improve existing planning, development, deployment processesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience7+ years of experience building backend applications using any modern programming languageExperience with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud computing platformsExperience with modern data storage solutions, such as MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB etc.Knowledge of current standard methodologies and to try, learn and adapt to new technologies and programming languagesSolid fundamental skills in data structures, algorithms, and web development best practicesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to mentor and coach junior engineersCortex is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
