WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Credentialing Specialist acts as the HealthTrust Workforce Solutions liaison between Dependent Professionals and HCA Healthcare facilities for receiving and processing new credentialing applications, renewals and updates. The DHP Credentialing Specialist is responsible for timely response to phone and email inquiries from DHPs, agencies and facilities. Works closely with DHPs and facilities to correct deficiencies, which includes educating agencies and DHPs on annual mandatory division requirements. The DHP Credentialing Specialist ensures access and provision of patient care services to HCA Healthcare-affiliated facilities is provided by DHPs who are qualified, competent, oriented to the facility setting. Ensures DHPs are appropriately supervised, and periodically evaluated in their provision of safe, effective, efficient, and appropriate care, treatment, or services, and assures that access to any safety- or security-sensitive areas of a HCA Healthcare-affiliated facility is granted only to authorized, non-employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Responsible for processing all initial and renewal applications for DHPs requesting access to HCA Healthcare facilities
  • Maintains set production and quality standards
  • Verifies that all submitted credentials are current and complete
  • Performs primary source verification on all credentials, including license and applicable certifications
  • Maintains accurate records of all files in Staff PM system
  • Evaluates all GIS Backgrounds and ensures proper flagging is assigned if applicable
  • Ensures all files are processed via a paperless process using Adobe Professional
  • Commits all DHP completed files to OnBase Imaging System
  • Communicates applicable updates and notices to agencies
  • Works closely with Division Lead to assist HCA Healthcare facilities on all QRS and JC audits
  • Monitors expiration dates of credentials
  • Creates ad hoc reports as requested
  • Maintains privacy and confidentiality (intentional or unintentional) of company and employee information in verbal, written, and electronic form. Limits access to all information to job-related on a need to know basis
  • Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Notifies respective senior manager of problem-causing trends with vendors on items needing attention

  • Requires prolonged sitting. and exerting up to 10 lbs force occasionally
  • Requires and some bending, stooping, and stretching
  • Require eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
  • Require dexterity to type at least 60 WPM
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, general office products
  • Work is performed in an office environment and involves frequent contact with staff and the public.
