Job TitleDirector, Labor RelationsJob Description SummaryThe Labor Relations Director will drive the corporate labor relations strategy for Cushman & Wakefield. The role provides expert consultation to the HR team, operations leaders, and employees on Labor relations matters. This position reports to the Head of Employee Relations for Cushman & Wakefield and partners with the HR Operations group and HR Business partners. The ideal candidate will cultivate a positive working relationship with organized labor to best deliver on desired business results.Job DescriptionJob DetailsResponsibilities:Serves as part of the Human Resources team on the development, administration, interpretation, and application of Labor Relations policies and programs and related matters, including quality control, data management, and compliance with local and national labor and employment laws.Advises and assists in the administration of collective bargaining agreements, contract interpretation, grievance and discipline administration.Consults with managers and HR Partners provides expert advice, coordinates with legal counsel, HR Ops and employee relations, and serves as spokesperson and liaison with union leadership.Coordinates and/or leads collective bargaining negotiations; serves as chief spokesperson and negotiator when needed, operationally defining labor policies that are competitive, and ensure cost effective labor agreements.Responsible for the ongoing implementation of business and operational changes during contract term.Provides consultation and mediation regarding work-related issues, conflicts, discipline policy/procedures, questions, and contract interpretation.Acts as company advocate for labor arbitration cases; conducts investigations, and prepares arbitration cases, working with Legal as appropriate.Identifies labor relations training needs. Assists in the design of training, and ensures training is delivered effectively.Oversees union related audits and partners with HR Operations for administration of Union contracts and RFP support.Up to 35% travel to participate in Labor relations activities as needed, particularly on the East Coast. However, this position offers the flexibility to work from home if desired.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required,Master’s Degree in Industrial Relations, Business Management or Juris Doctorate is preferred8+ years of Labor Relations experience preferredRequired Skills/Abilities:Demonstrated ability in labor negotiations and working knowledge of the National Labor relations actSuperior diagnostic and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to influence leaders and colleagues; skilled counselor, consultant and facilitatorStrong organization skills-ability to manage multiple prioritiesUnderstanding of the financial aspects of labor relations, including wage and benefits costs and impact on BusinessExcellent consultations skills and the ability to seek out information and work effectively with all levels of employees within the organizationCushman & Wakefield provides equal employment opportunity.
