Ciena Government Solutions Team (CGSI) is looking for a highly motivated Cyber Security SME. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customer with completing multiple projects in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.

Your Responsibilities:

• Support multiple IT systems through the Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) processes.
• Utilize XACTA to conduct A&A processing.
• Assist with IT system reviews that are required for completing A&A steps.
• Create A&A documentation such as System Security Plans (SSP) and Continuous Monitoring plans.
• Identify potential exploitation vulnerabilities and propose mitigation approaches for ongoing IT operations.
• Provide insight into latest IT threats and industry IT security trends.
• Identify countermeasures to the latest IT threats.
• Collaborate with program analysts and the lead engineer to improve metrics.
• Provide responses to questions from system security managers.
• Provide system documentation to the system security managers to support A&A efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in cyber security, InfoSec, security engineering, or network engineering
• Demonstrated experience leading A&A efforts for enterprise systems
• Demonstrated experience as project register managing the registration process
• Demonstrated experience writing, reviewing, and analyzing SSPs
• Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing documents such as requirements specifications, system architecture, design documents, test plans, and security plans.
• Demonstrated experience architecting and designing a flexible high security Research and Development (R&D) environment
• Demonstrated experience assessing systems against information assurance policies and regulations
• Demonstrated experience recommending mitigating countermeasures to identified threats, vulnerabilities, and shortfalls
• Demonstrated experience developing risk assessment and certification reports.
• Demonstrated experience monitoring and tracking remediation efforts
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and performing security testing
• Demonstrated experience analyzing and documenting test results
• Demonstrated experience resolving IT engineering problems
• Demonstrated experience communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience architecting and securing systems in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud
• A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, cyber security or other closely related discipline
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Place of Performance:

The place of performance is within the Washington Metro Area (WMA).

Travel:

Local travel (POV) will be on an as needed basis within the WMA.
