About The JobThis position sits with the General Secretary Team, which supports all of Danone North America’s business units. More specifically, this role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing North America’s programs and strategies in data privacy and security, compliance, and corporate governance, while forging strong partnerships with the global compliance and data privacy teams. This position is HYBRID and may be based in Broomfield, CO OR White Plains, NY.Responsibilities• Lead Danone North America Compliance and Data Privacy and Security programs• Provide guidance and recommendations to business units on potential compliance and data privacy/security impacts to their initiatives and issues• Develop best in class programs, driving and promoting the importance of compliance throughout the company• Develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures, including practical tools and reference guides.• Ensure compliance with all relevant U.S. and Canada laws and regulations.• Develop and conduct regular training and awareness programs for employees.• *• Conduct risk assessments and audits, ensuring appropriate controls are in place to mitigate risks effectively.• Manage and report on investigations and incidents, under attorney client privilege when needed; along with mitigation and/or corrective actions.• Monitor program effectiveness and report on metrics.• Collaborate with legal, IT, HR, and other departments to ensure data privacy and security measures are integrated into all business processes.• Lead initiatives on anti-corruption, anti-bribery, trade sanctions, anti-trust, conflicts of interest, whistleblower, internal investigations, and third-party vetting.• Lead Corporate Governance program• Maintain proper minutes, resolutions, and other materials for board and officer meetings for all U.S. incorporated legal entities and partner with the global legal team on reporting per French stock exchange requirements.• Maintain and update the corporate governance framework and provide guidance on governance matters.• Partner closely with the Integrated Business Services team (Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, etc.) to provide legal guidance and recommendations.• Assist the Global team on all mergers, acquisitions, and joint venture / partnership projects.• Build strong and effective relationships with the businesses and senior management.• Stay current on the latest legal developments, best practices and trends.• Manage direct reports and mentor other members of the compliance team.The base compensation range for this position is $160,000-$210,000 commensurate with experience. Danone North America additionally offers a performance-based bonus and has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other benefit plan options.About You• 8+ experience as a compliance and corporate governance professional or a closely related field.• Strong experience managing privacy and data protection programs for US and Canadian companies.• J.D. from accredited U.S. Law School and an active member in good standing of a U.S. State Bar.• Knowledge in corporate governance and corporate finance within a multinational setting, including entity formation, liquidation, and corporate reorganizations.• Deep understanding of the U.S. and Canadian corporate regulatory environment and strong legal acumen.• Ability to develop and maintain a compliance/governance program.• Ability to turn complex compliance requirements into scalable compliance processes.• Excellent research, organizational, and prioritization skills.• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to message from executives to front line.• Ability to work in a matrix environment, coordinating between business units and global partners.• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and networking skills with a willingness to cooperate and share knowledge.• Experience with compliance-related inquires and investigations.• Experience developing policies and procedures that impact multiple business units.• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with demonstrated experience succeeding in a fast-paced team environment.• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.Preferred• Proven track record of implementing quality programs with a spirit of continuous improvement.• Experience in a global company, preferably in the Consumer Product Goods industry.• Leading privacy and data management programs for U.S. and Canadian companies.• Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) Certified Compliance Professional.• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence regulations.• Experience with the GAN compliance management system is a plus.About UsAt Danone North America, you’ll work with some of the best-known food and beverage brands in the world like Activia, Silk, Two Good, Oikos, evian, and Happy Family.
