Data Analyst - Trailer Maintenance

What work will you perform at Landstar?
This is a key position within the Landstar Team responsible for data management, reporting, and analytics. Perform business analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory, and predictive modeling, and data mining for two departments - Trailer Maintenance and Safety Services. Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with internal or external clients to identify analytical requirements as needed
• Support the selection and development of systems to support the needs of the department and data analytics
• Serve as system administrator of departmental data application(s)
• Extract data from databases, define and track key department metrics by developing a set of meaningful, repeatable daily/weekly/monthly reports, as needed.
• Perform analysis using various techniques, including statistical, explanatory, predictive modeling and data mining
• Present data analysis and resulting recommended business decisions or findings to management
• Coordinate and lead the timely compilation and preparation of forecast and budget

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) from a two-year college or technical school
• One year of analytical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of analytical experence in the transporation industry
• Proficiency in Cognos Business Intelligence Tools
• One year of SQL experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficient in Word and PowerPoint, advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated history of autonomously developing new insights from data
• Experience managing projects and ability to prioritize assignments
• Strong communication skills with ability to develop visualizations based on data analysis results
