Data Engineer

This role will be in-office at our headquarters in Omaha, NE.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support ETL processes and systems to be used for reporting and analytics.
• Design, develop, and improve technical documentation, Data Models, and Data Lineage diagrams.
• Administers data connectors to enable access to Data Platform from project team tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Microsoft Excel, Power Apps, etc.).
• Move data between external and internal sources and targets of various technologies.
• Participate in the design, development, and analysis of data architecture and warehousing approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5-6+ years of relevant experience with detailed knowledge of data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT, and reporting/analytic tools.
• 3+ years of experience working with Cloud-based DW such as Snowflake, Redshift, etc.
• 3+ years of experience working with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
• 3+ years of experience working with Big Data Distributed systems such as Databricks, AWS EMR, AWS Glue, etc.
• 3+ years experience in Workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow etc.
• Leverage monitoring tools/frameworks, like Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.
• Experience working on CI/CD processes such as Circle CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc., and source control tools such as GitHub, etc.
• Strong experience in coding languages like Python

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to describe technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in easily digestible ways.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in relational-based systems and writing complex SQL.
• Fluent in complex, distributed, and massively parallel systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to represent complex algorithms in software.
• Strong understanding of database technologies and management systems.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Database architecture testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.

Nice to Have

• Have experience in building real-time streaming data pipelines
• Experience in pub/sub-streaming technologies like Redis Streams, Kafka, Kinesis, etc.

Experience:

• Python and SQL: 5 years (Preferred)
• ELT, ETL, and AWS/Azure: 5 years (Preferred)
• AWS/Azure Cloud: 5 years (Preferred)
• Data Engineer: 5 years
• All IT: 8 years (Preferred)
