NV5 Geospatial is seeking a Data Management Specialist to work directly with its federal government client at the Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado. The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include design, development, implementation, and maintenance of business data solutions. The Data Management Specialist will support data collection, consolidation, sharing, and other general data management activities. The successful candidate shall possess working knowledge of map design and data management processes in traditional and/or web GIS environments (e.g., ArcGIS Online), and will use custom or out-of-the-box ESRI’s ArcGIS toolbox applications to ensure data integrity or to accomplish tasking.
Responsibilities:
- Work with data stewards, data modelers, business analysts and data administrators to interpret business needs into data distribution and publication systems.

Assist with data collection, consolidation, sharing, and general data management activities.

Maintain metadata and lineage documentation for continually updated datasets.

Provide support to federal client staff to document the integrity, quality, and accuracy of data used in the distribution and publication systems.

Ensure that data requirements, data standards, access rules, and business rules are followed.

Analyze and mine business data to identify patterns and correlations among the various data points.

Design and create data reports and reporting tools to help business executives in their decision making.

Perform analysis of business data.

Map and Trace data from system to system to solve a given business or data problem.

Develop quality control procedures for datasets.

Improve the quality and accessibility of agency geospatial data.

Assist with data stewards, data modelers, business analysts and data administrators to interpret business needs into applications and derive data requirements.

Manage data within GBP infrastructure (e.g., ESRI’s ArcGIS software).

Identify and document reference data sources, integration process and domain values as
information that is collected. -
Develop and document geodatabase schemas to support and meet the business data requirements documented during business analysis.

Assist in compiling the initial national dataset and establishing the geospatial data replication processes and data quality reporting processes.

Participate in the monthly/weekly federal client geospatial calls.

Prepare weekly and monthly status reporting in a format agreed upon by the Contract

Officer’s Representative (COR).
Qualifications:
The position requires demonstrated professional experience in/with the following:

Demonstrated significant professional experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS software.

Professional experience with office automation software such as Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint.

Professional experience in development and documentation of geospatial data.

Experience in developing written technical documentation (such as metadata, training
materials, workflow diagrams, white papers, etc.).
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $60,000.00- $85,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
