Overview
As a Data Science Engagement Lead / Principal in our Group Benefits business, you will lead and shape how we deliver and implement data analytics solutions that are part of overarching long-term data and analytics strategy. In this role, you will focus on the Claims and Customer service part of our value chain for Group Benefits.
You will play a highly visible role and partner with key business stakeholders to leverage data science to accelerate growth and value in our business strategy and advise them on how to design and deliver data and advanced analytics solutions.

You Will:

Play a strategic and leadership role in developing and articulating the evolving, business aligned data and analytics strategy to our key business collaborators.

Work closely with senior management to champion big data / analytics as a central decision-making resource to increase company performance, develop new products, and gain competitive advantage.

Implement the communication plan and the understanding of a phased approach by which to provide analytics solutions to priority business areas and leverage potential growth opportunities using analytical models.

Participate in business intelligence projects by translating business questions and problems into structured analysis, reports, and tools.

In collaboration with our data scientists, effectively communicate the design, implementation, and operation of a big data analytics approach to our business segments. Advise on scalability and innovation and how it extracts, manages, and analyzes data, including the development, selection, and ongoing support of system- wide reporting and analytic environments and tools.

Lead high level business relationships partnering closely with technology, actuarial, marketing, and others to ensure an integrated approach where it makes sense under the umbrella of an enterprise strategy.

Develop innovative ways to linking internal data to external data, identifying insights, and articulating those insights to key business partners.

Driving implementation of products and processes designed to leverage data analytic insights to bring value.
You Have:
-
A bachelor’s degree is required. An MBA or a master’s degree or higher in technical studies including computer science, engineering or mathematics is preferred. Financial professional designations (FSA, CPA) are a plus.

8 plus years of demonstrated ability in data science, analytics, or related fields; solid understanding of machine learning techniques, such as regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning.

Experience working in the insurance industry and experience insurance claims and/or customer services is a plus.

Experience working with multi-functional teams, managing partner expectations, and driving projects to completion.

Solid project management skills, including developing project plans, identifying risks and dependencies, and managing project scope and budget.

Demonstrable ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, adapt to changing requirements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity and navigate complex business problems with minimal direction.

Superb communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts into business languages.

Very solid ability to communicate and present to senior and executive level management.

Strong leadership and relationship building skills and the ability to work with multiple collaborators.

Ability to build influence and demonstrate thought leadership in data science.

Ability to influence organizational change.
Location & Travel:

This is a flexible position within the Tri-State area requiring a minimum of 2 days a week in the office, preferably Bethlehem, PA; Holmdel, NJ, or New York City with travel as needed.
Salary Range
$143,150.00 - $235,175.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
