We’re looking for a Database Developer. The work location for this position is Norwalk SE, Connecticut, and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The Opportunity:
The primary function of the Database Developer would be database deployments and maintenance. To work with application development team in supporting and enhancing current products as well as development of new products. Optimizing data schemes based on application needs.
In this role you’ll:
  • Design and automate complex processes.
  • Provide production support for highly transactional databases servicing OLTP applications.
  • Handle performance tuning, backup and recovery, capacity planning, database fail-over setup, and management.
  • Assist in business process integration with various data sources.
  • Fulfill user requests ranging from access control, backup, restore, and refresh to non-production.
  • Develop best practices and repeatable procedures for deploying and scaling databases.
  • Design and implement database replication strategies for MySQL synchronous replication.
  • Deploy database schema and analyze current deployment process to provide solutions for better performance and reduce the time spent in SDLC.
  • Produce Ad Hoc Reports to answer business questions quickly and thoroughly.
  • Work on different AWS services (RDS, Lambda, EC2, Aurora, Redshift etc.).
  • Work closely with IT, Architecture, Project Managers and Report Developers to achieve business objectives.

Here’s what you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or foreign equivalent) required
  • A minimum 5 years of experience working on RDBMS preferably MySQL
  • Minimum 4 years of data integration development using ETL methodology
  • Minimum 3 years of data collection and database/report design
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in delivering IT/BI solutions
  • Experience with Cloud platform
  • Understanding of JSON, XML, XSD, XSL
  • Understanding of Internet Security
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous delivery and build tools such as Jenkins and Maven
  • Preferred Skills
    • Experience with Liquibase -Database DevOps
    • Experience with Bitbucket-Source code repository
    • Knowledge of Tableau
    • Knowledge of Pentaho DI
    • Experience with Agile Scrum
