They are also expected to contribute to other school programs whenever necessary.PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:• Illustrates deference and regard for students, parents, colleagues and administrative peers. The noteworthy traits should include impartiality, consistency, composure, a humorous perspective, and emotional stability to foster an affable environment.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:• Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, health, art, physical education, music and citizenship to pupils, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriated learning activities. May teach a foreign language.• Through deliberate preparation, the educator designs learning experiences that motivate students and efficiently utilize instructional time.• Implements and monitors a set of behavioral standards to establish a productive classroom atmosphere for learning.• The duty involves assessing the academic and social progress of every student, keeping accurate records, creating progress reports, and regularly communicating with parents about their child’s performance.• Assumes responsibility for the evaluation of pupil needs and cooperates with other professionals to identify and address academic, health, and attitude issues.• Collaborates with students to develop an engaging and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for education via exhibits, announcement boards, and engaging centers.• Executes essential tasks relating to the management of attendance records and administrative functions as needed.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Chooses and orders literature, education supplies, and instruction tools, along with keeping track of necessary inventory records.• Ensures a pleasant room environment by regulating heating, lighting and ventilation as much as possible.• Supervises pupils' participation in non-academic activities during the designated work hours.• Executes the district's testing plan by conducting standardized group examinations.• Shows active participation in curriculum and developmental programs to ensure that the educational offerings better meet the needs of students and educational standards.• Financially assists in student activities while participating in important faculty committees.• I can ensure that paraprofessionals, including aides and teacher assistants, are trained and equipped with essential skills, ensuring they can work harmoniously with educators and facilitate student learning.• Works alongside other professionals to conduct social hygiene and outdoor education programs.EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:• Appropriate credential as required by the District and the State for the position.ENVIRONMENT:School and Office.PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:Frequency Key; None (1) Occasional - up to 25% of shift (2); Intermittently - up to 50% of shift (3); Frequently — up to 75% of shift (4)Activity FrequencyBend: 2Lift/carry: (0-10 lbs) 3Twist: 2Lift/carry: (11-25 lbs) 3Squat: 2Lift/carry: (41-100 lbs) 1Lift/carry: (26-40 lbs) 2Kneel: 2Climb: 2Stand: 4Reach above shoulder: 3Ability to Hear: 4Walk: 4Grip/Grasp 4Sit: 3Extend/Flex Neck: 3Drive: 1Use Right Hand: 4Use Left Hand: 4Keyboarding/Mouse Work: 2Ability to See: 4Perform Repetitive Hand Motions: 3VCUSD is an Equal Opportunity Employer that is in complioance with anti-discrimination policies at the federal and state level.
