Proactive and dynamic benefits professional sought as a key member of the Human Resources team. A successful incumbent works with operational effectiveness and discretion to address benefits matters, carrier relationships, special projects, and compliance. This position collaborates closely with payroll, the HR team, IT, and other DNC departments.
Responsibilities:- Strives to ensure timely and excellent customer service to staff members regarding benefits enrollment and questions concerning coverage and access
- Support the onboarding process to efficiently enroll all new hires into their designated benefit options
- Administer DNC healthcare plans
- Administer DNC retirement Plan
- Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments
- Support 401(k) administration and audits
- Process employee changes, especially regarding disability, FMLA, and employee life status changes
- Monitor HR Helpdesk tickets to resolve benefits related questions and issues
- Facilitate annual open enrollment in collaboration with the HR Director
- Assists in development and evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department actions in relation to established goals.
- Assist HR with employee/personnel projects and establish various reports and documents to provide current personnel information
- Assists in maintaining Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database as needed
- Assists with administration and communicates health and benefit plans including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through insurance and benefits
- Ensures accurate and detailed record keeping
- Reconciles benefits statements
- Prepares presentations and slides as necessary
- Provide general support for various human resources initiatives as required
- Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in a benefits role
- Ability to quickly learn systems, processes, procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively build partnerships with staff.
- Dedication to discretion and confidentiality
- Excellent analytical and research skills
- Able to multitask, communicate progress and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment, enthusiasm, can-do attitude, diplomacy, with the ability to be proactive
- Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities simultaneously
- Experience with Zendesk, Monday.com, and UKG a plus
- Knowledge of employment laws preferred
- Excellent organization and time management skills
This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends. The starting salary for the Benefits Specialist position is $63,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
