QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

· Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution

· Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record

· Minimum of five (5) years of in-depth design management experience in architecture and construction

· Some experience in educational facility design

Preferred:

· Some experience as a project architect

Special Knowledge & Skills

· Possess strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

· Demonstrate a strong focus on attention to detail

· Excellent knowledge of all phases of construction project development from discovery through construction administration

· Strong understanding of program and project management methodologies

· Attention to detail, with a strong understanding of contract documents and technical aspects of project cycles

· Ability to communicate articulately in written and verbal form

· Proficient with computer software and tools used in the construction industry

· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge of building codes, zoning ordinances, accessibility standards, health and safety standards and regulations, and maintenance practices

· Knowledge of construction inspection permitting and certification processes

· Adaptive to a changing work environment and able to continually improve operations

· Possess a positive customer-sensitive attitude

· Ability to organize, analyze and present data

· Ability to understand and review construction budgets and applications for payment

· Knowledge of various construction procurement methods available to Texas public schools

· Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans and specifications
