DevOps Engineer, Sr. (Hybrid)

We are seeking a DevOps enthusiast who would want to take part in the mission, boost efficiency and accelerate delivery flow within our Cassandra Database platform (CDP) to support internal customers.

You will work in an international environment with hubs across three continents. You will have an outstanding opportunity to expand your reach in terms of knowledge, network and build your expertise through Swift’s global platform.

• 4+ years; DevOps and database infrastructure with following technology stack:
• Design, develop, implement automation test and deployment with Ansible
• Language: Java, Python, Shell scripting
• Exposure to container technology – Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes
• Database technologies: NoSQL DBs / Apache / MongoDB
• Computer Science foundation and understanding of Data structures
• Operating System: RHEL – Familiarity with OS commands
• Familiar with Infrastructure architecture concepts.

• Universal / Technical degree in computer science or related field

• Coordinate and control day-to-day database administration/management activities to include Cassandra DB cluster health data collection and analysis, database access and performance analysis.
• Work with the Product Owner and Squad members to develop, test, configure, build and maintain database clusters in line with agreed requirements
• Implement and operate your solutions
• Deploy infrastructure and software according to our organizational change processes
• Collaborate with our internal and external customers following DevOps/Agile principles and standard methodologies
• Provide operational support to the software product delivered
• Follow-up and detail our services (systems/applications/procedures) as they evolve
• Interact and collaborate with other internal teams to ensure excellent customer happiness
• Develop and maintain user documentation
• Prepare and give presentations to customers on systems
• Handle issues always focusing on continuous improvement: you will automate, educate and share knowledge clearly

• Based in Manassas, VA, you will be working alongside a complementary team of Cassandra database and DevOps/Automation Engineering enthusiast.
