Apply via Dice today!Summit Technologies, Inc. has a remote position available for an R&D Software Engineer/Sr. Manager. In this role you will lead our client, a UK technology team by steering technical decisions and projects and ensuring the successful delivery of all technology initiatives. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and people skills, extensive experience in technical project management, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to make informed technical decisions. This is a full-time temporary role lasting 9 months to 1 year. You must be available to work during UK business hours.Duties and Responsibilities:• Provide directions to the Technology team.• Contribute to the UK Senior Leadership team including departmental metric reporting and strategic decision making.• Partner with Head of Operations to create and manage departmental utilization reports (revenue delivered per resource).• Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth across Technology, Product Management and Project Management.• Provide coaching, mentoring, 1:1s and deliver effective and performance reviews to direct reports.• Support Line Managers with their teams, steering performance, and absence issues, maintaining and building morale and inspiring remote teams.• Contribute to and lead a newly established Project team working to find their feet with a PMO framework that services the business, both from a large Project and Change request portfolio.• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects.• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and budget.• Continue to establish and maintain PMO standards, processes, and best practices.• Ensure alignment of projects with organizational goals and objectives.• Monitor and report on project status, risks, and issues.• Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to make strategic technical decisions from Software Architecture, Development, QA, Deployment, and Infrastructure.• Work with the Solution Architect and Product Manager to evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions.• Support the Infrastructure and Operations team with prioritization, management of planned and unplanned works and maintenance.• Ensure technical decisions align with business objectives and goals.• Co-ordinate and support the Deployment function with prioritizing and planning deployment, with a focus on keeping whitespace to a minimum.• Responsible for design, implementation and delivery of hardware for project commitments and product roadmap.• Ensure that Hardware Engineers are looped into sprints, work to target and obtain the correct components.• Lead the Product strategy for both the software and hardware aspects of product delivery.• Support the overall business strategy with ANPR pilot for multiple workstreams, working with Sales to push new products to market.• Work heavily with the Sales team to utilize Product and Market intel, to feed into product backlogs and refinements.• Act on escalations within technology initiatives and projects.• Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the company s technology infrastructure.• Support the established centralized IT function used to maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards.• Be responsible for spending against internal infrastructure, development tooling and additional hardware costs.• Support, oversee and make decisions when required for outages and P1 s, managing internal communications and formal RCA documentation.Qualifications:• Must have at least 8 years' experience as a Software Engineer with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Summit Technologies Inc. appreciates your interest.
