Position Summary

As a member of the Marketing and Communication Team, the Digital Content Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of Educational and Community Supports’ website and social media content to meet department goals and user needs. This position manages website pages and social media channels by formatting web content, writing social media posts, and creating graphics to enhance and supplement written content provided by the communication specialist.

The Digital Content Specialist manages the content of ECS' websites and social media channels (ECS, PBISApps and the Center on PBIS). This includes:
  • Assessing site content needs and collaborating with stakeholders to plan and organize new content
  • Formatting content for the web using a Content Management System (CMS)
  • Planning/implementing social media campaigns
  • Writing social media posts
  • Designing graphics for the web
  • Analyzing/reporting metrics

This position ensures that digital content is compliant with copyright and Section 508.

The position will collaborate with other teams and stakeholders, including researchers, regarding digital content for the web through cross-team projects and committee work.

The Digital Content Specialist uses complex content systems to track large amounts of information, which requires both design and technical skills.

The Digital Content Specialist reports to the Marketing and Design Manager.

Eligible for Hybrid Work, Local to Primary Work Location: This position has been identified as hybrid-eligible; some work may be accomplished remotely.

Minimum Requirements

  • Two years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations; OR
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.

One year of postsecondary education may be substituted for up to one year of experience.

  • Knowledge of digital design and production practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in digital video editing.
  • Experience creating social media campaigns.
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and keyword research.
