We are excited to invite applications to join the Hill's Digital Applications group within our Global Information Technology Organization (GIT) as a Digital Data Strategist supporting our Vet & Pet digital experiences. You will join an agile team, helping to drive the build of a variety of high-profile applications using modern tools and infrastructure including Customer Data Platforms, Customer Identity & Access Management, and Marketing Cloud solutions. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to help realize our vision. A successful candidate will be driven to understand business goals and implement high-quality solutions that deliver performance, maintainability and scalability, leveraging leading cloud based marketing technology to digitally connect. This role will involve planning, business and data analysis, functional and technical design, as well as close partnership and interaction with the Digital Marketing and IT teams to support the deployment of best in class technology to optimize and expand digital engagement programs leading to better targeting and engagement with our professionals, customers and consumers. The ideal candidate is very customer focused and can work well both independently and within a team.


Please note that this role can be based in Piscataway, NJ or Kansas City, Kansas.


What you will do

  • Partner with the Digital and Brand Marketing teams to define use cases for digital marketing data activation
  • Develop a holistic view and knowledge of our consumer and professional ecosystem / data model including, marketing, commerce and transactional data
  • Translate business campaign requirements into technical requirements for seamless design and implementation by GIT
  • Grow the use of CDP and other MarTech in data driven use cases, campaign activation and general adoption through strategy to integrate a broader spectrum of first-party datasets
  • Support the evolution of digital platforms and applications, as a data strategist, by providing data thought leadership including data quality and requirements guidance in alignment with business use and accessibility
  • Function as the data technology and strategy subject matter expert, ensuring the sound build and enhancement of our platform ecosystem while leading the implementation of any desired changes and proactively suggesting optimizations to improve data integration, management and quality
  • Own and manage the Hill’s Consumer Data Model with additional support from GIT and guidance from the business
  • Participate in data architecture designs ensuring they align with best practices and overall management including: data ingestion, processing & validation, transformation and modeling
  • Handle overall project timelines, including identification and communication of critical path items, key milestones and cross-functional dependencies; actively communicate against timeline and plan for critical project tasks and required resources
  • Work on the development of the technology roadmap to capture, manage, and leverage customer/consumer data to improve digital marketing and personalization initiatives
  • Work with Global and Divisional Marketing teams to advance first party data collection, integration and accessibility efforts with a strong focus on data driven marketing strategy and technologies
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of scope, deliverables and manage expectations through project timelines and beyond


Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years Professional experience working in Information Technology or Digital Marketing
  • Experience leading large full-lifecycle implementations and/or implementing integrated solutions including cloud-based marketing solutions
  • Solid understanding of data management technologies (data models, quality, compliance and general management practices), enterprise and Cloud technologies
  • Understanding of governmental privacy regulations on the collection and use of customer data (such a GDPR and CCPA) and how this impacts customer data management.
  • Clear, concise and user-friendly communication skills
  • Strong motivational and organizational skills
  • Ability to work on numerous assignments at one time with demonstrated follow-through, attention to detail and commitment to business partnership
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity - in business requirements, technology options and project direction


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) including Journey Builder, Email Studio & Content Studio, Advertising Studio and MobileConnect
  • Experience with BlueConic Customer Data Platform
  • Experience with Snowflake and DOMO
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology and SCRUM in order to provide input into estimating and executing engagement activities

Salary Range $112,000 - $164,850 USD

Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
