Director, Ad Product Monetization, Strategy, and Operations

The Opportunity

Everyday Health Group’s Pregnancy & Parenting is a division of Everyday Health Group is looking for a Director of Ad Product Monetization, Strategy, and Operations who will be responsible for driving innovation in our advertising products that power our next phase of growth, and the systems that support those products.

You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and launching new ad products and solutions for existing and new customer segments and for optimizing our existing product set to drive revenue growth.

You will define the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for our key ad product offerings and work cross functionally with our product development, engineering, marketing, ad operations and programmatic teams to remove internal barriers and lead the commercialization of products.

You’ll lead the team responsible for inventory, pricing and packaging of our products and will oversee and iterate on the systems and processes required to move those products through the sales cycle.

You will be an integral member of the Revenue Leadership team, reporting directly to the CRO, partnering with Business Development and Sales to bring these products to market.

You are a leader that is comfortable and experienced in navigating growth companies and the challenges that come along with them. Deep experience in digital media publishing and/or platform companies is a must. We are looking for someone who wants to sign up for a challenge, introduce change, build new capabilities and products, and create operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:


  • Define the ad product strategy and roadmap for Everyday Health Group P&Ps suite of advertising products both current and yet to be conceived.
  • Identify new monetization opportunities and partnerships from industry trends, challenges and customer research.
  • Provide regular market/competitive analysis to inform product decisions and roadmap and ensure a competitively positioned and innovative product playbook
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to create the value proposition, develop go-to-market strategy and ensure product-market fit for new advertising products
  • Partner with product management, developers and engineering to understand the product roadmap and build business cases for prioritization.
  • Lead and guide the Deal Desk Pricing & Packaging and Sales Planning functions to maximize revenue opportunity and drive revenue growth, partnering with Sales, Customer Success, and Performance Marketing teams to understand market dynamics
  • Partner with the Programmatic team to identify areas of optimization and opportunity for programmatic monetization
  • Establish the operational structure and workflows to support successful collaboration and product delivery and own product commercialization
  • Own training and enablement
  • Understand and own the barriers to monetization, working cross-functionally to solve issues and prioritize development of solutions
  • Regularly communicate the vision, strategy and roadmap with executive leadership.
  • Track the evolving ad monetization landscape: marketplaces, competitors, trends, opportunities


Desired Professional Skills and Experience:


  • 10+ years overall, 5+ years of delivering successful and innovative products that drive impact and revenue
  • A strong skill set and track record of success working and communicating with a wide range of people from Data Scientists to the Customer Success org
  • Exceptional ability to develop and maintain cross-functional relationships
  • Outstanding ownership with a focus on problem solving and implementing the right level of process to do so.
  • Experience working with technical engineering and data science teams and driving complex projects from ideation to successful launch.
  • Ability to enact processes to ensure operational efficiency
  • Possess a rich understanding of compliance, operational excellence, and program management
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to present actionable insights and make clear, concrete decisions
  • Proven experience with ad technologies and solid knowledge of the larger digital advertising ecosystem
  • All-around leader: you can create a vision that others want to follow
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with fellow leaders and senior executives
  • Strong planning skills; highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage and prioritize requests from multiple teams for a variety of needs
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to challenge the norm to improve product offerings and drive incremental revenue
  • Ability to perform well in highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment

Note: Disclosure as required by CO sb19-085 (8-5-20), NYCHRL, and CA SB-1162: and WA SB5761: the salary compensation for this role when being performed in CO, NYC, CA or WA is $150,000 to $200,000. Compensation for this business unit specific role is based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, as well as business & company performance. This role is also eligible for a bonus in addition to the above compensation.
