Director, Global Corporate Affairs Strategy

ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a key member of the Global Corporate Affairs team (GCA), you will surface strategic opportunities for the team’s leadership to inform a holistic communication strategy for Audible across internal and external stakeholder groups. You will work cross-functionally with internal partners and across the GCA team to develop the knowledge and skill to be a trusted advisor across a wide range of issues to GCA leaders, threading the needle between all communications efforts internally and externally. You will influence/liaise frequently with internal and external stakeholders. You will become an expert in framing our public/internal narrative and communications strategy and in identifying high-impact storytelling opportunities for Audible, with an innate ability to communicate and identify the findings that matter. You will drive business-critical communications across the GCA team as needed. The Director, Global Corporate Affairs Strategy reports to the head of GCA.

ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced communications professional looking for a unique opportunity to contribute and drive strategy across internal and external communications verticals in partnership with the head of GCA and comms execs. You have industry media relationships and experience managing overlapping narratives and initiatives.

As a Director, Global Corporate Affairs Strategy, you will…
  • Develop and lead business practices to increase GCA operational efficiencies and implement mechanisms to scale
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of all relevant data sources, areas of opportunity—know what’s possible and be able to answer questions fast
  • Understand strategic challenges faced by leaders and deliver timely and relevant intelligence
- Deliver clear, concise strategic and tactical counsel to comms execs on short- and long-term challenges and opportunities; support strategy development across team verticals
  • Coordinate across the GCA team to leverage relationships, establish best practices and collaborate on a unified vision for Audible comms
  • Help develop, manage and execute proactive and reactive communications (including executive positioning, media relations, stakeholder and social/digital) for complex global business matters
  • Remain aware of the latest news in the entertainment tech and audio space

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of working experience in communications in-house and/or at an agency
  • Experience within global corporate environments
  • Experience within Corporate, Internal and/or PR communication verticals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of technology and content/media services and/or experience therein
  • Passion for Audible’s core mission to improve lives through storytelling, the company’s commitment to urban revitalization, and its disruptive, technology-driven culture
  • An established track record of outstanding judgment in fast-paced, high-profile environment, particularly in dealing with time-sensitive, confidential and/or controversial matters
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivated with the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Intellectual curiosity for what drives the business
  • Organized and detail-orientated with strong project management skills
