Job Description


The ESS Strategic Execution & Operational Excellence team is seeking outstanding people to realize the vision of ESS. In the new role of Director, Global Risk Management, ESS, you will establish strong risk management disciplines and processes across ESS in collaboration with the regions we serve.

As a global software business, there will be a strong focus on information security, technology resilience, scalability, software life-cycle, architectural, third party and product risks. There will be a parallel focus on leveraging automation to accelerate speed to market. You will develop the vision and strategy for risk management in ESS, implement that strategy and scale the function as the business grows organically and through acquisition. You will work closely with ESS information security, technology and products teams, the regions we serve, and corporate governance teams.

Responsibilities

1. Risk and Issue Management

  • Manage the Risk and Control Self Assessment process in collaboration with Global Risk Management and the ESS leadership team.
  • Manage the timely escalation and resolution of risk and control issues to management and leadership.

2. Controls Management

  • Oversee the identification, design, operation and documentation of key controls, as required by Experian policies and standards.
  • Establish an approach to controls assurance, working closely with the ISO27001, SOC2 and UK SOX initiatives, and governance teams.

3. Governance

  • Ensure transparency and oversight of key risks by the ESS Risk Management Committee and leadership.
  • Establish clear accountability for risks and controls across ESS and a culture of proactive risk management.
  • Establish and maintain reporting of Key Risk Indicators and trends.
  • Establish processes to manage and monitor ESS compliance with Experian policies and standards.

4. Regional and Governance Team Collaboration

  • Manage relationships with regional risk, governance and management teams.
  • Ensure transparency to regional leadership of ESS key risks that impact the regions.
  • Work with regions on the pro-active management and resolution of GRC issues related to ESS software and platforms.
  • Understand regional risk management requirements and seek synergies with ESS processes.
  • Build collaborative relationships with EITS and corporate governance teams, including Global Risk Management, Global Security Office, Legal, Compliance and Third Party Risk Management.

5. Client Centricity

  • Ensure that client needs and expectations regarding risk management are effectively addressed.

6. Other

  • As a member of the Strategic Execution and Operational Excellence team, support activities as necessary to deliver on our collective responsibilities.
  • Apply flexibility in managing own time to work effectively with teams across multiple timezones.

Qualifications
  • Relevant professional qualifications, such as CRISC, CISSP, CISRCP, or CISA.
  • Passion for driving outcomes and having a positive impact on the business.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative and consultative approach.
  • Ability to engage in challenging conversations in a constructive way.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Flexible thinking and ability to adapt to various situation.

Required Experience

  • 15+ years prior technology risk management, information security or internal audit experience.
  • Using best practice risk and control frameworks and applying them to a business environment.
  • Identifying, documenting and testing controls.
  • Preparing materials and presenting to senior executives and committees.
  • Experience of working in a multinational environment.
  • Experience working in a dynamic technology company.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and education. This position is also eligible for a variable pay opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package which includes health, life and disability insurance, generous paid time off including paid parental and family care leave, an employee stock purchase plan and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
