The Director reports to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Firm’s content marketing efforts including developing strategies for creating and maintaining creative content, managing the creation process, promoting content across various media channels while measuring effectiveness and return on investment.
The Director is expected to lead content, communications, and public relation (PR) strategies in support of advancing Ryan’s strategic initiatives, organizational priorities and market differentiators through comprehensive brand storytelling that connects and resonates with internal and external stakeholders. This role is a proven professional highly skilled in many communication styles for a business-to-business environment, and which may also include media relations.
The position leverages the demonstrated ability to collaborate with management and key stakeholders to craft a vision, strategy, and plan for creative content, communications, and PR development as well as delivery across multiple channels, with an emphasis on digital marketing, strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, including experience using various forms of written and visual content and earned, owned, and paid channels to reach the intended audience effectively utilizing internal and external resources as required.

Develops, manages, and coaches writers, editors, graphic designers, and other content creation specialists to develop the skills necessary to create and deliver engaging content for various target audiences.

Collaborates and coordinates with internal clients, key colleagues in creative services, as well as the digital and events teams to deliver compelling content based on requirements

Partners with the marketing managers and traffic coordinator to ensure clarity of direction while delivering against required timing and budgets

Develops and executes strategic content and communications plan, partnering with key stakeholders and external agencies (where necessary), to drive brand and Firm metrics

Uses communications strategies to connect key audience, build Firm image, and drive interest in Ryan

Evaluates potential opportunities for partnerships with other businesses or organizations that may provide mutual benefits or strategic opportunity

Creates and implements digital marketing strategies which align with and support the Firm’s business objectives

Grows Firm’s media presence by cultivating media relationships, building interest and coverage, and pitching compelling stories about the brand

Ensures websites, social media accounts, blogs and other digital channels promote content that is aligned and relevant to PR efforts, our target audience and kept current with press releases, articles, thought leadership, etc.

Partners with digital marketing vertical to create and maintain Ryan’s digital newsroom

Translates business objectives and distill complex information to create engaging copy appropriate for a variety of external and internal communication channels and audiences: key messages, articles, client, and leadership presentations, press releases, product descriptions, social media, video scripts, pitch decks, email marketing, brochures, flyers, web pages, bios, and related items

Develops and manages the creation of an editorial content calendar that outlines topics to be regularly covered on channels and deliverables with a client-centric voice for the Firm

Participates in marketing research and planning activities to help identify new product needs or communication plans (story lines) and determines how to appropriately address

Ensures that all content delivers against the communications objective and is compelling, grammatically correct, and adheres to Ryan’s branding and tone of voice

Cultivates and leverages media relationships with key influencers (people and organizations) to create opportunities to promote Ryan in the market

Applies a journalist’s mindset, networking, and asking thoughtful questions to discover stories, themes, and contributors for new content opportunities that position Ryan uniquely and engage among the targeted audience(s)

Reviews analytics data to determine the effectiveness of the Firm’s marketing efforts and identifies adjustments that may be required. Prepares reports detailing progress on content creation projects, cost and estimated completion dates, and results as derived from analytics

Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required, with 15+ years’ related experience.

Minimum 5 years of professional corporate communications strategy experience required.

Demonstrated proficiency in a wide array of writing styles including blog posts, emails, social media posts, web content and media/client press releases.

Strong team player with a proven track record in managing multiple projects with a high attention to detail

Demonstrated strong fiscal responsibility and relevant vendor management and negotiation experience
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
