Director of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and Sustainability (Remote)

The Director of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and Sustainability will be responsible for building and scaling ezCater's ESG strategy and capabilities. This includes developing and managing all environmental and sustainability initiatives, leading cause marketing programs, and overseeing ESG measurement and reporting.

The Director will report to the VP of Communications and will collaborate with all levels of the organization to ensure that ESG and sustainability are integrated into all aspects of the business.


What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement ezCater's overall strategy, framework, and action plan to build an ESG program at ezCater with clear objectives, goals, and expected impacts on business outcomes
  • Work closely with the CP Sales, Corporate Solutions, Product, and People teams to ensure that ESG initiatives are supporting cross-functional objectives Define and implement a long-term environmental and sustainability strategy that advances ezCater's overall business goals
  • Apply relevant standards and frameworks, such as SASB and SDGs, to ESG and sustainability initiatives. Use data, benchmarks, and insights from these standards to evaluate performance and identify areas of opportunity
  • Launch and oversee customer- and CP-facing supplier diversity program to highlight underrepresented catering partners and meet customer needs
  • Evolve cause marketing strategy, including identifying and expanding charitable partnerships, to drive customer loyalty and build brand awareness of ezCater's commitment to the community
  • Partner with Communications and Brand Marketing teams to tell the story of ezCater's ESG commitment and progress to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Stay current on ESG trends and best practices

What You Have:

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience, with 5+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate social responsibility or related fields
  • Strong understanding of ESG and sustainability principles and practices
  • Ability to translate business goals and data into a compelling ESG and sustainability strategy that is rooted in our business, people, and culture
  • Experience in managing ESG budgets and reporting
  • Outstanding project management and cross-functional partnership skills; demonstrated ability to bring people together around a common goal
  • Expertise with ESG reporting frameworks such as PRI, TCFD, SASB, GRI, etc.
  • Strong understanding of ESG rankings and ratings, such as EcoVadis, MSCI, ISSS and Sustainalytics
  • Excellent communication skills - written, visual, and verbal - and the ability to translate them into emails, presentations, talking points, etc.
  • The agility to pivot and thrive in an ever-changing environment, juggling competing tasks with exceptional organization
  • Strong empathy: the ability to listen carefully, be sensitive to different audience perspectives and different ways people take in information, and be inclusive in all communications

The national cash compensation range for this role is $197,000 - $233,000* per year.

  • Please note: Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise and region & may vary from the amount above. This range does not represent additional compensation benefits (such as equity, 401K or medical, dental or vision insurance).
