Camden has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Learning Innovation to join a dynamic, results-driven HR team. The desired candidate possesses a strong background in organizational development, instructional design, people and project management. The Director of LI will lead the design and development of learning and organizational development strategies and programs to support professional growth of Camden employees and leadership. This is both a strategic and hands-on role requiring strategy, assessment, implementation, and practical application of programs. This position partners closely with Camden’s training team and other stakeholders to ensure training design, development, implementation and delivery expectations are met.
We are seeking someone that loves to transform leader insights and user feedback and data into meaningful learning and development programs and tools that support employee growth, development, engagement and talent retention. This position oversees all learning functions, including learning experience design, administration, measurement and reporting. The Director leads and manages a Learning Innovation team of professionals responsible for the design and development of world-class communication, training, learning and development for all Camden. This role partners with HR and business leaders to ensure Camden’s learning and development programs incorporate the newest learning methods, technologies, and approaches to training and engaging our employees. The position will build and support a culture of professional development and promote an employee lifecycle built on a foundation and vision of lifelong learning.
Essential Functions
Ensures learning design and development initiatives support Camden’s strategic goals, operational focuses and company messaging
Works with Camden leaders to develop and successfully implement a robust learning strategy that supports Camden’s mission, values, business goals and priorities
Leads, develops and inspires a team of Instructional Designers and learning innovation professionals to effectively develop and execute Camden’s learning strategies and initiatives
Creates and makes available diverse learning experiences that help all Camden team members achieve their performance and career goals
Partners directly with leaders to understand their department priorities and performance expectations and how the Learning Innovation team can prepare team members to achieve these goals
Partners closely with Trainers and training team to ensure programs designed and developed by Learning Innovation are effective and learning objectives are achieved.
Understands business drivers and effectively links team member development to business success
Communicates Learning Innovation department impact using performance metrics, customer and employee feedback, leader and user insights
Leads change through exceptional communication, effective collaboration and influencing skills
Oversees the learning management system to maximize effectiveness and customer experience
Manages team member performance, providing coaching, mentoring and training, holding team accountable to deliver on commitments for on time, quality learning and development
Manages multiple learning innovation projects and programs across the organization
Partners closely with Director DEI to ensure learning and development of diversity, equity and inclusion are met
Continuously monitor and address changing training needs
Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement
Identify on-going technology and skills training needs and implement programs to review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Learning and Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or related field, or equivalent experience
Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of learning and development
Minimum 5 years of experience in instructional design and organizational development
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively
Critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze situations, make independent decisions, prioritize to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and be a team player
Effective communication skills with the ability to take an idea to sustainable execution by adapting to and navigating through organizational networks
Proven ability to apply policies, procedures, and compliance knowledge across the organization
Strong knowledge and proficiency in the most current technology-based learning tools and resources
Requires ability to think critically, creatively, and exercise a high level of analytical skills
Required Skills
Must be a service-oriented and detail-oriented self-starter who can work independently and follow broad and complex instructions
Minimum 2 years supervisory experience, managing team of direct reports
Excellent organizational skills and project management skills to manage multiple projects from concept to finish
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to interface with all levels within the organization and external partners

Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climb stairs)
Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing
Works in a typical office setting
Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position
Must handle stressful, urgent, novel and diverse work situations on a daily basis
May require long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
Position requires periodic travel, out-of-tow and / or overnight trips
Attendance and punctuality are essential for success in this position
Hazards can be minimized with proper lifting techniques, SDS and general safety training, and wearing appropriate PPE
