About the role

The Director of Global Logistics has direct ownership of the movement of Roku product inventory through the supply chain optimizing inventory availability and shipment delivery to meet internal business needs and the requirements of Roku’s customers. This role oversees International & Domestic transportation, Warehousing & Distribution, and Trade Compliance.

The Director of Global Logistics is responsible for the continuous development of Roku’s forward and reverse logistics networks and the associated value-added services. We are looking for a visionary that is innovative and forward thinking that will anticipate challenges and will develop strategies to mitigate risk. A leader that will drive efficiency in our already robust network, evolve promising service providers, and discover new sources to enable the success of our business initiatives. A leader and influencer who will create best-in-class solutions in terms of capacity, efficiency, and cost.

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $121,000 and $232,000 annually.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

What you'll be doing

  • Assess capabilities of current and potential service providers, their capacity plans, service levels, cost structure, financial health, and potential risks
  • Regular benchmarking of industry cost trends to drive rate negotiations and service levels
  • Continuously evaluate both forward and reverse logistics networks identifying risks. Propose strategies to mitigate risk and close gaps to the attainment of current and future business goals
  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies to optimize international & domestic transportation, trade compliance, warehousing & distribution, and final mile delivery ensuring predictability of supply and risk mitigation while meeting cost reduction targets
  • Drive execution of agreed upon network optimization projects
  • Discover and develop outsourced service providers to create customer focused logistics tailored for product and customer verticals. Lead contract negotiations optimizing price and service levels.
  • Oversee trade compliance, Roku adherence to import/export requirements, regular review of product classifications and audit readiness. Act as the subject matter expert on domestic-to-foreign and foreign-to-foreign trade. Develop procedures to mitigate delays and undue costs
  • Oversee process for Restricted Party screening
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and implement operational processes that ensure transactional accuracy and inventory integrity
  • Oversee the recovery and disposition of customer returns and distressed assets
  • Discover and develop processes within the network to enable value-added services
  • Develop and implement KPI objectives and related metrics to drive continuous improvement through the forward and reverse networks
  • Oversee the process to assess and promote supplier performance and development through regular and timely feedback ensuring closure of agreed upon improvement plans
  • Mentor and develop a team of Logistics professionals enabling scalable processes that lead to best-in-class results
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to ensure financial reporting that is accurate and timely
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams providing insight and transparency of logistical network dynamics

We're excited it you have

  • A BS (or higher) degree in Logistics or Supply Chain
  • 10 years’ leadership experience in Logistics in the Consumer Electronics or IT industry
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to leverage qualitative and quantitative data to resolve concerns and enhance decision making
  • Deep experience working in International trade, the Consumer Retail Sector and Direct-to-Consumer logistics
  • Proven record of proactive identification and management of supply chain risks
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and resourceful
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills; strong ability to influence others
  • Ability to interpret contractual terms and conditions; experience writing contracts a plus
  • A strong sense of integrity and dedication to ethical business practices
