The Director of Planning and S&OP will drive excellence in demand planning and S&OP for all channels and geographies. The successful candidate is expected to have enterprise-level planning expertise and is able to lead and work well in cross-functional teams. The Director will be responsible for leading the demand planning team and cross-functional participants to monthly forecast consensus, delivering new product innovation forecasts with market intelligence applied, as well as establishing S&OP processes while improving integrated business planning as a whole and increasing executive confidence.

Six Month Expectations

  • Possess strong functional knowledge in all aspects of global demand planning, S&OP and supply chain.
  • Ability to drive transformation, create an environment to challenge status-quo and create a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Play a key role in standing up S&OP including developing training sessions, new templates and playbooks.
  • Lead monthly S&OP meetings, articulating shifts in demand that can be explained using scenario planning and modeling outcomes based on outputs from statistical forecasting tools.
  • Support near term demand control review process (ie Sales and Operations Execution).
  • Influence purchasing practices in partnership with supply chain and sourcing teams.
  • Deliver robust new product innovation forecasts leveraging segment and category incrementality, volume recapture as well as cannibalization.
  • Possess deep working knowledge of incorporating marketing plans, category drivers, competitive analyses and other external factors influencing demand.
  • Effectively lead a team of demand planners, ensuring they have clear pathways for professional development.

Twelve+ Month Expectations

  • Drive budgeting process by identifying drivers and reconciling discrepancies between actuals, S&OP plans and financial plans.
  • Possess strong leadership capabilities, ability to create the right strategy, sell that strategy, and create the team to deliver the results.
  • Design and deploy integrated business planning processes moving us from a state of limited sophistication to increasing levels of maturity.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Demand Planning with at least 3 years leading S&OP.
  • Omni-channel beauty industry experience or CPG experience strongly preferred. Wholesale experience (i.e Sephora, Ulta) also a plus.
  • Working knowledge of capacity planning, supply chain and inventory management principles.
  • Cross-functional S&OP modeling and integrated business process leadership experience.
  • Compassionate people leader with strong managerial experience and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Experience building statistical forecasts for a rapidly growing SKU mix with complex product life cycles.
  • Results-driven and willing to work in a demanding and rapid paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to effectively follow-up.
  • System implementation experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills. SQL experience is a plus.
