Provide strategic leadership for the Honors College's scholarship programs and related academic excellence, outreach, and student services initiatives. Directs the Honors College's two signature cohort-based scholarship programs, the National Scholars Program and Breakthrough Scholars Program, to include program design, student selection and recruitment, academic and professional development activities, and faculty involvement. Develop strategy for outreach and pipeline development, engage in cross-university collaboration, supervise staff, and oversee assessment for areas of responsibility. Other duties as assigned.
40% - Essential - SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:
Develop, cultivate, and promote a long-range vision and mission for scholarship programs within the Honors College, consistent with the university's strategic goals. Identify opportunities for growth and innovation in each program. Create a cohesive culture of scholarship programs while working with Associate Directors to ensure that each program retains its unique identity, mission, and vision. Develop recruitment and outreach strategy for scholarship programs. Lead student selection and recruitment processes for both programs, including annual selection weekends. Provide leadership for all academic, personal, and professional development activities. Develop strong working connections with faculty across academic disciplines to the benefit of both programs. Evaluate program results and make changes as needed to reach desired program and student outcomes. Along with program Associate Directors and faculty, advise scholars across programs, as appropriate.
35% - Essential - LEADERSHIP AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
Supervise professional staff in Scholarship Programs. Contribute to hiring, training, and supervision of undergraduate and graduate student program assistants. Develop and monitor annual budgets and align financial and human resources with strategic priorities. Engage in grant-writing, fundraising, and donor stewardship to support scholarship programs and other related strategic initiatives. Serve as primary advisor to the Dean and Associate Dean(s) on matters related to scholarship programs and academic excellence. Represent the Honors College internally and externally, including on university committees related to scholarships, with professional organizations, and with various external stakeholders.
25% - Essential - STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
In collaboration with the Dean and Associate Dean(s), identify, innovate, and lead initiatives to support the Honors College's strategic goals. Build opportunity, capacity, expertise, campus connections, and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to advance the Honors College, its scholarship programs, and related initiatives. Assess and analyze new opportunities for alignment with institutional priorities. Devise and execute a plan for outreach to students, communities, and organizations. Represent the college through collaborative initiatives with internal and external stakeholders.
Education - Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or a related field
Experience - 3 years of experience leading, implementing, and managing complex programs
Education - Doctoral / Terminal Degree
Experience - 5 years of relevant experience
